Johann Besser, Erlangen, Germany, 2016
New violin, aged in our shop. Handmade by Johann Besser in 2016 in Erlangen, Germany. This violin is a perfect example of a copy of an Italian Master Bartolomeo Guarneri, made with aged wood and it has a finely grained spruce top and curly maple back. It has an antique looking, hand-rubbed, oil-spirit, reddish-golden varnish. This violin has a big bright sound with sweet undertones, unusual in a new violin. This violin produces loud dynamics without sounding harsh or brassy. And this violin will grow into an even more beautiful sounding instrument when played.
