Mittenwald Master Violin, Circa 1870's (Restored)
Master violin from Mittenwald, Germany made in 1870’s and restored in 2020. This violin has a one piece maple back and a spruce top. It has a semi-dark stain which gives it a rustic feel. It has a very beautiful hand carved scroll with detailing down the back toward the neck. There are also interesting engravings from previous owners in the scroll and left shoulder. This violin has a lot of the sound characteristics of an old instrument. It has a warm and mysterious sound while still being able to handle many diverse dynamics. The tone is very smooth and resonant.
