Born 1819 Baden Germany, died 1887 Philadelphia.  Hand-made in Philadelphia circa 1860's.  "Joseph Neff Philadelphia" inked on the back inside the violin. Appraised by Philip J. Kass on July 9, 2006, with documentation.

CONDITION:  Instrument is in beautiful condition, expertly repaired and restored again by our Luthier. 

Top -2 f-hole cracks on bass side.  2 bass bar cracks, 1 tiny crack at top.  NO soundpost issues. 

Ribs - Bass top violin corner.  Bass block.  Both repairs hardly noticeable.

Back - Gorgeous wood, no cracks. 

Neck - perfect. 

Scroll - Beautifully carved, no damage or repairs.
